As a college and school counselor for a college-prep independent high school in Pennsylvania, I met with over 100 college admissions representatives to both learn about their schools and ask what colleges are looking for in the students they admit. I visited over 50 colleges during that time, both touring campuses and meeting with admissions people.

Through my IECA membership, MACAC (Minnesota Association for College Admissions Counseling), dozens of higher education resources, College Planner Pro, various podcasts, webinars, and presentations, I invest significant time to professional development in order to keep up-to-date on higher education trends, financial aid, best practices, and strategies to help high school students and their families navigate the college process successfully.

I have a long history of helping students achieve their goals.

I've worked with students in secondary education my entire career, first as an English teacher, then as a high school counselor, and now as an educational consultant.

Along with the insight I've gained into the college admissions process from the high school and college perspectives, I have also been through the process twice as a parent. I dragged my kids to A LOT of college tours! I think my kids found me helpful, but there are downsides to having a college counselor as your parent! Despite their worries (and mine), they both went to their top choice schools and have loved their experiences. I can identify with parents who may be feeling anxious and overwhelmed for their child during this time, and it’s my goal to take the stress off their plates and work hard to help their student discover the best place to thrive and flourish.

I have continued to visit a minimum of 20 colleges a year as an independent educational consultant, so I am able to bring my knowledge and impressions to the students and families I advise.

My education includes a journalism degree from the University of Kansas, an English Education degree from the University of Nebraska, a master's degree in English from the University of St. Thomas, and a master's degree in school counseling from West Chester University in Pennsylvania.

Originally from Nebraska, I have lived most of my adult life in the Philadelphia area and the Twin Cities area in Minnesota. I now live in the western suburbs near Lake Minnetonka.

CCC is more than an acronym for my consulting business, CCC is also my oldest daughter's initials: Chloe Connor Corrick. Chloe died from liver cancer at a very young age, but she is with me every day as I carry out the work I love and dedicate my time to helping young people. Part of my profits each year will go to organizations furthering children's cancer research.
